Chapter 29
ARVInn--Parade of Homes 2109

Chapter Description: The Evers family started something, which others joined in on. The variety of homes and accommodations at ARVinn led to efforts by those proud homeowners to show off their lifestyles. Among the results...the "Parade of Homes."

With the coming of private homes to the facility, another event developed.  Curiosity about the adaptive nature of the homes, as well as their contents, and the desire to share the builders’ work with others led to beginning a “Tour of Homes.”  The first was held in 2087, on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the opening of the ARVInn.  It proved quite popular and was revived a few years later.  Since 2102, following the fortieth anniversary observance, a tour has been held at least once each year.  Spring and Christmas are both popular times.  Both have been done a few times.  Tickets have been sold to support a number of charitable causes in the area, including AR-Adult group homes, the Red Cross, and disaster relief after the September 2104 tornadoes in Indiana.

The pictures and information included here are from the Spring 2109 Tour, whose proceeds went to a newly built group home for AR-Adults in Muncie, IN.  A unique feature of this Tour was the addition of a virtual element, allowing the inclusion of some residences which would normally be too small for entry by many visitors.  The virtual tour portion used immersive VR equipment in the ARVInn auditorium, provided by Cosine Games, arranged by participant Jacob Kresona.
